For Long-Lasting Storage And Transportation, The Dried Meat Pounded Into Powder Was Poured Into Bags Made Of Uncured Buffalo Hides. A Quantity Of Liquid Fat And Marrow Was Added Plus Wild Berries (Most Often Saskatoons) When They Were In Season Then The Bag Was Sewn Shut. A Child Is Seen Here Heating A Pot Over A Fire.
